Neo CBSE Learning App · CBSE, NCERT & Maharashtra State Board, Classes 1–12

Introduction

Global EduTech ("we," "our," "us"), operated by Global EduTech , provides the Neo CBSE Learning App, a mobile application offering CBSE, NCERT, and Maharashtra State Board-aligned textbooks, study material, and video lessons for Classes 1 through 12 ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the App, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you and to parents or guardians of student users.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account details: name, email address, mobile number, school/class/grade, and password (or login credentials via Google/Apple sign-in) when you register.
  • Parent/guardian details: where the app is used by a student, we may collect a parent or guardian's name, email, and phone number for account verification and consent.
  • Profile information: class/standard, board (CBSE, NCERT, or Maharashtra State Board), subjects, and preferred language.

Information collected automatically

  • Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and mobile network information.
  • Usage data: chapters and videos viewed, time spent, quiz/test scores, search queries within the app, and feature interactions (e.g. bookmarks, downloads, doubt-solving/circle-to-search usage).
  • Log data: crash reports, diagnostic logs, and performance data used to keep the App stable.
  • Approximate location: derived from IP address, used only to localize content (e.g. state board variations) and detect fraud — we do not collect precise GPS location unless a specific feature requires it and you separately consent.

How we use information

  • To create and manage your account and deliver the textbooks, video lessons, and practice content you request.
  • To personalize learning: recommending chapters, tracking progress, and adapting difficulty based on your class and performance.
  • To operate AI-assisted features (such as doubt-solving, OCR-based question scanning, and content search) — these features process the text or image you submit to generate an answer or explanation.
  • To process subscriptions, credits, and payments, and to send related receipts.
  • To send service updates, syllabus/exam alerts, and — only with your consent — promotional communication.
  • To monitor, secure, and improve the App, fix bugs, and prevent misuse or unauthorized access.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including those under Indian law applicable to educational technology services.

We do not use student learning data to build advertising profiles or sell it to data brokers.

NCERT/CBSE/Maharashtra State Board content & video lessons

NCERT textbook content made available through the App is sourced from material published by the National Council of Educational Research and Training and is used for educational access in line with applicable guidelines. Maharashtra State Board textbook content is sourced from material published by the Maharashtra State Bureau of Textbook Production and Curriculum Research (Balbharati) and is used for educational access in line with applicable guidelines. Video lessons may be produced by GlobalEdutech or licensed from third-party educators; where third-party content is used, it remains the property of its respective creators. This policy governs how we handle your personal data — not the copyright status of educational content, which is addressed separately in our Terms of Use.

Children's privacy & parental consent

Because the App is designed for students in Classes 1–12, many users are minors. We apply additional safeguards for accounts belonging to children under 18, consistent with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable child-protection regulations.
  • Where a user is a child, we require verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian before creating an account or processing the child's personal data.
  • We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the learning service and do not use a child's personal data for behavioural advertising or profiling.
  • Parents/guardians may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us (see Section 13).
  • We do not knowingly enable unsupervised public chat, messaging with strangers, or sharing of a child's personal data with other users within the App.
  • If we learn that a child's account was created without appropriate parental consent, we will take steps to suspend the account and delete the associated data.

How information is shared

We do not sell personal data. We share information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers: cloud hosting, video streaming/CDN, payment processing, SMS/email delivery, and analytics providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • Schools/institutions: where the App is deployed through a school or government program, relevant progress data may be shared with the institution administering that program.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of GlobalEdutech, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice provided to users where required.

Data storage, security & retention

  • Data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls restricting who within GlobalEdutech can view personal data.
  • We retain account and learning-progress data for as long as your account remains active, and for a limited period thereafter to comply with legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time; some anonymized or aggregated usage statistics may be retained for service improvement.

Your rights & choices

  • Access & correction: view and update your profile information within the App, or contact us for assistance.
  • Deletion: request deletion of your account and personal data via in-app settings or by emailing us.
  • Consent withdrawal: parents/guardians may withdraw consent for a child's account, which will result in deactivation of that account.
  • Marketing preferences: opt out of promotional emails/notifications at any time via in-app settings or the unsubscribe link.

International data transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in India or other countries. Where personal data is processed outside India, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives a comparable level of protection as described in this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. For material changes, we will provide notice within the App or via email.
